Filming a Camera Angle
Anyone with a smartphone can stream a live camera angle — no account required.
- Open
/event/ID/camor scan the QR code on the event detail page. - The rear camera activates automatically (environment-facing, not selfie).
- Choose a channel preset: Main Stage, Band & Drumline, Dance Floor/DJ, Tailgate, Alumni Floor, Fan Cam, or Interviews.
- Tap Go Live — your feed appears in the Watch Hub camera switcher immediately.
- Tap Flip Camera to switch between front/rear without dropping the stream.
💡 The screen stay-awake (Wake Lock) is activated automatically. Keep the camera phone plugged in for long events.
Watching the Live Event
Open /event/ID/watch on any device. No login needed.
- Tap any camera tab to switch angles in real time (<1 second latency).
- Tap Unmute Venue Sound to hear the active camera's audio (iOS/Android require one tap first).
- The Live Snaps tab shows photos being uploaded right now.
- Tap the QR icon on the video to expand a full-size QR that points new viewers to the watch page.
Uploading Photos
- Open
/event/ID/uploador tap "📸 Share Event Photo" on the watch page. - Tap Take Live Photo — this opens your rear camera directly.
- Add an optional caption and tap Push to Screen.
- Your photo appears on the Memory Wall within seconds, stamped with your name, class badge, and exact capture time.
Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP — up to 15 MB.
Memory Wall & Gallery
Open /event/ID/photos to browse every photo from the event.
- Filter by sub-event (Tailgate, Homecoming Game, Gala, etc.) or class year.
- Tap any photo for the full-screen lightbox — then Download, Share, Tweet, or post to Facebook.
- Each photo card has a quick 📤 Share and ⬇ Save button.
Admin Console
Open /event/ID/admin and enter your event PIN (default: ramsay2026 for Ramsay events).
What you can do
- Edit event details — title, venue, description.
- Switch active session — photos get tagged with whichever session is marked active.
- Send SMS blasts — paste phone numbers, pick a pass type (Watch / Upload / Film), send via Sent.dm.
- Moderate photos — ⭐ Feature (pins to kiosk slideshow) or 🗑 Hide any photo.
- Copy event links — one-click copy of all 7 event page URLs.
Kiosk / Big-Screen Projector Mode
Open /event/ID/photos?kiosk=1 on any laptop connected to a TV or projector.
- Full-screen black background, auto-advances every 6 seconds.
- Shows photo, uploader name & class badge, timestamp, session name, and event watermark.
- Corner QR code: Scan to Snap & Upload from Your Seat.
- Press Escape or tap the close button to exit.
💡 Featured photos (starred in Admin Console) are prioritized in the kiosk slideshow.
SMS Magic Links (Sent.dm)
In the Admin Console, use the SMS Blast tool to send personalized 1-tap links via Sent.dm.
- Paste phone numbers — one per line, or comma-separated. US 10-digit numbers are auto-formatted to E.164.
- Select pass type: 📸 Snap Portal, 📺 Watch Hub, or 🎥 Cam Streamer.
- Preview the exact SMS text, then click Send Sent.dm Passes Now.
- Each recipient gets a link pre-filled with their name and role — they tap once and they're in.
You can also use the POST /api/event/ID/magic-link endpoint to send individual passes programmatically.
Sharing the Event
On the Watch Hub, the share strip below the video has:
- 📤 Share This Event — native mobile share sheet (iOS/Android).
- 🔗 Copy Watch Link — copies the watch URL to clipboard.
- 𝕏 Share — pre-filled tweet with event name and link.
- f Share — Facebook share dialog.
- Viewer QR — scan to open the watch page on any phone. Tap to expand full-size.
FAQ
Do attendees need an account?
No. All pages are accessible by link or QR code — no account, no password, no app required.
How many cameras can stream at once?
Up to 20 simultaneous live camera feeds per event.
How long are photos stored?
Photos remain in the Memory Wall until the event is deleted. You can download all photos from the gallery at any time.
What browsers are supported?
iOS Safari 15+ and Android Chrome 90+ for filming. All modern browsers for watching and photo upload.
Can I change the admin PIN?
Yes — in the Admin Console under Event Settings, update the Admin PIN field and save.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Camera shows black screen | Grant camera/microphone permission in your browser's site settings, then reload. |
| Phone screen keeps sleeping | Keep screen brightness at 100%. The Wake Lock API is active but some iOS versions may override it. |
| "Unmute Venue Sound" won't go away | iOS/Android require one user tap before audio plays. Tap the banner once. |
| Photo didn't appear on wall | Check your Wi-Fi signal. Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP under 15 MB. |
| SMS not arriving | Verify SENT_API_KEY is set in the server environment. Admin console shows per-message delivery status. |
| Camera angle not showing in switcher | The watch page polls every 10 seconds — refresh if a new camera just joined. |
