The youth at Hoover Church of Christ actively study and compete in the annual Lads to Leaders / Leaderettes (L2L) convention. This study portal provides student participants, parents, coaches, and room judges with direct access to the 2027 L2L Rulebook, official 1 Kings question banks, and live practice duels and team scrimmages.

CONVENTION EVENT

Bible Bowl Team (Oral Rounds)

Official Event Rules from pp. 102–104 of the 2027 L2L Rulebook:

Divisions: Grades 3-4, Grades 5-6, Grades 7-8, Grades 9-10, Grades 11-12.
Team Size: Exactly 4 participants per team. A congregation may register multiple teams.
Answer Cards: Each member displays a card (“A”, “B”, “C”, “D”) when called. No conferring with teammates is permitted.
Scoring: 1 point per correct answer per student. Team score is the sum of correct answers.
Question Count: Grades 3–6 answer 40 questions; Grades 7–12 answer 60 questions. Questions read aloud once.
Finalists: Top 8 teams are called to stage during awards ceremony; top 3 receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies.
Room Officials: Reader, Scorekeeper (1 per team), Room Monitor, Room Leader, and Judges.

Tie-Breaker Rule: Clear 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 8th vs 9th places must be established. If scores tie for these positions, teams answer tie-breaker questions until the tie is broken.

PRE-CONVENTION EVENT

Individual Bible Bowl Test

Official Event Rules from pp. 75–76 of the 2027 L2L Rulebook:

Eligibility: Any student in grades K–12 can take the test. (Does not require being on a team).
Test Platform: Online at ZipGrade. Unique Student ID & Access Code provided by group leaders.
Question Count:
- Grades K–6: 60 multiple choice questions
- Grades 7–12: 100 multiple choice questions
Testing Integrity: Closed Bible, closed apps, no aids, and no AI tools. Adults may read questions to young kids, but never Bible verses.
Awards: Top 10 scores in each grade division receive High Score awards.
K-2 Division: Special K-2 division for Individual High Score award.
Perfect Score Award: Given on stage at convention for 100% written test scores.

Pre-Convention Deadlines: Test dates and deadlines vary by convention site. Group leaders must verify that all students complete testing before site deadlines.
